The family of influencer and model Rachel Mee are ‘absolutely devastated’ by her sudden death just days before her baby son’s first Christmas

Rachel, who became a mother to son Kyro in March this year, passed away on Sunday December 18, with a close friend writing in a tribute she had ‘lost her battle with the pressures of this world’. No cause of death has been announced. 

The Only Fans model’s elder brother Connor, 29, broke the news of her death to friends on social media on Monday, with close friends and neighbours saying her passing has come as an ‘awful shock’.

The social media star, an influencer who had over 40,000 followers on Instagram, has lost both her parents and often posted about life as a single mum bringing up the little boy she ‘dearly loved’.

Rachel’s brother wrote: ‘As many of you know my little sister Rachel Mee passed away suddenly yesterday morning. As a family we are overwhelmed by everyone’s messages and support and there are far too many to reply too.

‘We are absolutely devastated by her loss, she was a sister, aunt, niece & mum to her beautiful boy Kyro and will be missed by everyone who knew her.’

He added: ‘Rachel was loved so much by a lot of people, but only a few knew the real Rach.’ 

Among the stunned friends paying emotional tributes were former Geordie Shore star Natalie Phillips and MMA fighter Joshua Vogel, who has donated the fee from his next fight to a fund set up to help Rachel’s son Kyro.

Neighbours at Rachel’s home in Blyth, Northumberland, where she lived alone with her son, said her death had come as ‘an awful shock to everyone’. 

Former Geordie Shore star Natalie, who left the MTV show in 2020, was a close friend of Rachel’s and paid tribute as she posted pictures from past nights out.

Natalie said: ‘Not convinced this is ever going to sink in. Rest peacefully my darling girl. What I wouldn’t do to take us back to these days. Sleep tight with your Mam and Dad.

‘You have a lot of catching up to do sweetheart. I know how much they will have missed you. Love you loads Rachel. Now and forever. Please hold your loved ones closer tonight.’

MMA fighter Joshua Vogel, a family friend and former neighbour pledged the proceeds of his next fight in February to a fund set up to help Rachel’s family and Kyro in particular. 

Joshua posted: ‘I was Rachel’s and Connor’s neighbour for 13 years, we basically grew up together. I moved away but Rachel was still so pleasant to me and always greeted me and complimented my children and my girlfriend.

‘If Connor doesn’t attend the show I will be handing him the money raised myself. There is also a just giving link people can kindly donate too.

‘She was loved by so many people and a lot of people close to me who I also grew up with are supporting her family. You know who you are.

‘I’ll dedicate February the 4th to Rachel Mee and her son Kyro. I am so sorry this happened to you Rachel I really am. I hope you have found your peace and your soul lives on forever.

‘Wherever there is a human being there is an opportunity for kindness.’

Friend Chris Coppen has set up a GoFundMe page at the family’s request.  

Chris, from Blyth, says on the page, which has raised over £5,000 so far: ‘I’ve been asked from the family of Rachel to set a go fund me up as there have been so many messages paying respects and asking how they can help.

‘This page will help toward the cost of Rachel’s funeral and any associated costs, anything else left over will go towards baby Kyro’s future. Any donation is greatly appreciated by the family.’

Close friend Claire Robinson also opened a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for the tot’s future.

She wrote: ‘This Christmas will be Kyro’s first, and devastatingly his mummy will not be there.

‘We are all so saddened with this devastating news how this world has failed such a beautiful young girl.’

Claire added: ‘Rachel sadly lost her battle with the pressures of this world.

‘We are all so saddened with this devastating news, how this world has failed such a beautiful young girl and how she felt she had no other option [than] to no longer be here.’

Claire added: ‘Leaving behind her beautiful little boy who she adored with all her heart.

‘We feel if we can raise some funds for Kyro’s future just to take a little stress away from Rachel’s family and to help in some way.

‘Or to even give Kyro a little head start in life raising some funds in memory of his beautiful mummy.’

Social media users took to both fundraisers and the influencer’s social media pages to leave tributes.

One said: ‘Devastating to hear. Oh Rachel RIP my gorgeous girl – the world will be less colourful without you.’

Another said: ‘This is the saddest news. Rachel, I hope you’ll finally find peace. You will be missed.’

A third added: ‘Didn’t know you personally, followed you on Instagram, but feel devastated, a beautiful girl. RIP angel.’
