The Block: Sarah-Jane and Tom respond to divorce rumours

Sarah-Jane and Tom’s marriage has been pushed to breaking point on The Block, with fans speculating the Melbourne couple may soon divorce.

Tensions boiled over last week when the couple bickered over their unfinished study, with Tom telling his wife to ‘go find a new husband’ if she’s so unhappy.

Despite fears their relationship won’t survive the show, Sarah-Jane has insisted they are still rock solid and have worked through bigger problems in the past.

‘We have dealt with more daunting and harder experiences in life. We knew we had each other’s backs no matter what,’ the social worker told Woman’s Day.

Sarah-Jane added that she and Tom had ‘prepared ourselves for a really emotional and exhausting experience’.

‘When you’re stressed constantly, you take it out on the one you love the most. Well, I do anyway,’ she admitted.

In recent weeks, viewers have been sharing their concerns about the future of Sarah-Jane and Tom’s three-year marriage. 

‘I give Sarah-Jane and Tom five years of marriage. He’ll get sick of her mouth and finally leave her,’ one fan tweeted. 

‘I simply don’t get how you could have a loving relationship speaking to each other like that,’ another added.

The couple clashed on the building site as they realised their study wouldn’t be ready in time for the judges on Tuesday’s episode. 

Their quarrel began when the team decided to use a 120sqm space instead of a 30sqm room that was required.

‘There’s a couple of hurdles that keep popping up with labour shortages and the wrong roof sheets for the walls,’ Tom told producers.

‘Let’s be realistic, these houses are not going to be finished, unfortunately.’

Sarah-Jane also called out her husband for ‘complaining’ too much.

‘It’s not that I complain, I vent my frustrations and I’m open about that,’ Tom replied.

‘It’s the way he looks at me. He looks at me like I’m an idiot,’ Sarah-Jane then said to the cameras.

‘He snaps at me, he’s doesn’t have time for me and he’s been doing it the last two weeks and I’m not having it anymore so I went off.’

The pair were then seen arguing over picking up three wine barrels, despite only needing one for the room they were working on.

‘He wants me to go pick up three of them from an hour and a half away, and I’m just wondering what all three of them are for?’ Sarah-Jane said.

She later said Tom was making her ‘feel like s**t’, before telling producers: ‘I’m just sick of Tom deflecting it on the fact that he can be an a**ehole and it’s always just everybody else.’

‘Babe, I was not an a**ehole,’ Tom snapped back.

‘I tell him how I’m feeling and his response is, “Well, get a new husband,”‘ she said.
