Davide Sanclimenti took a knock to his ego during Wednesday’s instalment of Love Island as he watched his current partner Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu crack on with bombshells Jay Younger and Remi Lambert.

The Italian hunk, 27, grew progressively more frustrated as actress Ekin-Su, also 27, turned on her flirt with the two newbies over a date.

‘Play with Monopoly, not with me,’ Davide vented to the boys, which came after antics such as Ekin-Su sharing spaghetti with Jay across the table and confirming she would like to get to know him.

Davide’s timely one-liner was widely enjoyed by viewers of the ITV2 dating show, with one remarking they were ‘crying’ and another branding him ‘naturally funny’.

A third quipped: ‘Play with monopoly not with me will be on primark tops tomorrow’.

After the arrival of bombshells Jay and Remi, Luca and Ikenna were on very different pages.

‘No one is safe,’ the fishmonger remarked, while salesman Ikenna claimed: ‘I’m not threatened.’

Never the time-waster, Ekin-Su told Jay her woes with Davide: ‘There’s been times when he hasn’t been putting effort in. You know when you’re just like, “are you here?”‘, to which the latest Italian stallion replied with her own remark: ‘I’m not here for seasonal boyfriends.’

After Jay told the group he works in finance, Jacques then informed him: ‘I play rugby lad’.

Jay fired back: ‘You’re a bit small for a rugby player, no?’ to which an annoyed Jacques responded: ‘Oh really? If you run at me I’ll flatten you, so…’

Elsewhere, Remi’s ice-breaker rap didn’t leave just Luca stifling a giggle, as ITV2 viewers took to social media to discuss the uncomfortable moment.

‘Remi’s friends are bad,’ one penned, ‘no one told him not to rap on national TV?’

Meanwhile a string of other fans felt that Remi couldn’t lace the rapping boots of series three contestant Chris Hughes, sharing a photo of him with the caption: ‘never forget the true rap god’.

During a conversation with Jay, Tasha revealed it would ‘take a lot’ for her head to be turned from Andrew, but said: ‘I’m not completely wifed down.’
