Royal fans are excitedly speculating that Meghan could be set to make a comeback after the emergence of a mysterious Instagram handle and rumours she will work with a Hollywood PR guru.Â
It comes after Harry’s whirlwind publicity blitz for his controversial memoir Spare, during which Meghan – whom is often close by his side – was notably absent.Â
The royal couple typically put on a united front, but Meghan is said to have expressed concerns that the memoir could ruffle feathers.Â
Before her romance with the prince began in 2016, the then-actress regularly posted about her life on The Tig – her former online blog.Â
Now the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have reportedly hired Hollywood dealmaker and venture capitalist Adam Lilling, who they met when TV host Ellen DeGeneres and wife Portia de Rossi’s renewed their wedding vows in Los Angeles last month.Â

Last summer, a new @Meghan handle appeared on Instagram. After fans of the star rushed to follow the page, its profile picture was changed to a pink dahlia
Lilling, 53, was the founder of Pentagon CDs, an online internet and music enterprise which was bought out by Virgin in 1999.
Five years later, Lilling set up BiggerBoat, an entertainment search engine focused on media, music and film. Lilling is also the founder of Plus Capital in 2021 – which aims to partner ‘the world’s top influencers – those who can affect more change in a day than most can in a lifetime – with the best entrepreneurs and operators in the world’.Â
Although Meghan has been absent on social media for years, a new @Meghan handle appeared on Instagram last summer, accompanied by a never-before-seen childhood photograph of the 41-year-old.Â
It came after the mother-of-two revealed in an interview with The Cut Magazine last August: ‘I’m getting back… on Instagram.’Â
And with only A-list celebrities being able to bag an Instagram handle using just a first name, it was believed @Meghan must be the machine through which the Duchess is restarting her online persona.Â
According to The Telegraph, after fans of the star rushed to follow the page, its profile picture was changed to a pink dahlia – a possible nod to Meghan’s mother still calling her daughter by her childhood pet name ‘flower’.Â
After remaining invisible during her husband’s publicity campaign for Spare, reports emerged of the Duchess possibly having reservations about what Harry wrote in his explosive memoir
Harry and Meghan have been absent from the Instagram account @sussexroyal for nearly three years, with the last post made on March 2020Â
The royal couple typically put on a united front, but Meghan is said to have expressed concerns that Harry’s recent memoir Spare could ruffle feathers
But after zero posts and a mere 200 followers, the Duchess’ comeback on social media seems to have come to a halt.Â
Meghan has remained largely invisible since the publication of Spare, with some speculating she had ‘gentle concerns’ about what Harry wrote in the tell-all book.Â
Despite once commenting that the married couple move together like ‘salt and pepper’, the Duchess was absent from his side for several major appearances, including on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in the US.Â
One source said: ‘[Meghan]Â will always back him and would never have got involved in promoting such a personal project.’Â

Meghan would write about her life on The Tig regularly and there are speculations she may return to social mediaÂ
‘What Meghan does next’ is a question troubling many royal watchers as the Sussexes recalibrate following Harry’s controversial autobiography
The couple were apparently introduced to Lilling by mutual friend and US television host Ellen DeGeneres, who has apparently worked with him ‘forever’.Â
The Sussexes and Mr Lilling were among the guests when DeGeneres renewed her wedding vows to Portia de Rossi in California last month.Â
So while Meghan may have taken a step back from the spotlight, behind the scenes she appears to be plotting something of a comeback.Â
Tom Bower, author of Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the war between the Windsors, suggested the Duchess is ‘building up to something big’.Â
‘The question is, how will she make a lot of money in a short period of time in the end to make sure that she doesn’t need always to parade herself as the victim of the royal family?,’ he told GB news.Â
‘She’s always looking for other business opportunities. What’s interesting is the people she goes to. Who is going to maximise Meghan’s popularity, who’s going to make her really big and very rich? She’s very shrewd and clever in that.’Â
Harry promoted his book on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in the US last month but his wife Meghan remained absent
He added: ‘She wants to ride in the big Cadillacs, the private jets on command, at the moment she needs to scrounge for those sorts of things. She’s on a treadmill which is fast, she wants to get there faster than tomorrow.’Â
‘The mystery is there, that’s the great thing.’
Meanwhile, Meghan’s very own autobiography may be in the pipeline, with her declaring on The Cut that she has ‘a lot to say until I don’t’.Â
‘It’s interesting, I’ve never had to sign anything that restricts me from talking,’ she said.Â
According to one source, the Duchess of Sussex ‘is contemplating getting entirely candid about her time in the Royal limelight… and leaving no stone unturned’.
In 2021 the couple reportedly signed a four-book deal with publishers Penguin Random House.
Prince Harry is said to have received a $20 million advance for Spare. Meghan has already released her children’s book The Bench with the same publisher, and it is rumoured that the couple are working on a ‘wellness’ book. Now it is believed the mystery fourth book will be Meghan’s autobiography.
The Sussexes’s will also move onto the next phase in their multi-million dollar deal with Netflix by moving away from content about themselves and focusing ‘on fictional, scripted content’, it has been reported.Â
