Rihanna says she and A$AP Rocky did not hire a nanny after she gave birth to her baby boy last May: ‘It was just us as parents and our baby’
Rihanna revealed that she did not hire a nanny to look after her baby boy during an interview with British Vogue that was published earlier this week.
During the sit-down, the 34-year-old hitmaker expressed that she and her partner, A$AP Rocky, elected not to find a caretaker for their child, aged nine months, and remained with him during his early days.
The interview with the performer, who recently spent over half a million dollars on a rental house in Arizona, was released just days after she revealed that she was pregnant for the second time during her performance at Super Bowl LVII.
Rihanna told the media outlet that, following her boy’s birth, she and A$AP Rocky decided to raise their child on their own.
‘We came home, cold turkey, had no one. It was just us as parents and our baby,’ she recalled.

The Disturbia singer also recalled that she and her partner had a difficult time during their early period as parents.
‘Those first days are insane. You don’t sleep. At all. Not even if you wanted to…you’re a zombie for the most part,’ she stated.
The performer commented that she found the experience of starting a family to be particularly profound.
‘Essentially, from one person I became two. You walk into the hospital as a couple and leave as a family of three. It’s nuts,’ she said.
Rihanna and A$AP Rocky, 34, initially became acquainted during the early 2010s and remained both friends and collaborators for several years.
The pair initially began seeing each other romantically in 2020, although they did not confirm their relationship to the public at the time.
The Sundress rapper, born Rakim Athelaston Mayers, later spoke about his affection for his girlfriend during an interview that was released in 2021.
The Only Girl (In the World) singer subsequently showed off her baby bump during a photoshoot in New York City in January of last year.
