In the year 2006, when Ashley was in college and was 17 years of age. The name of her assassin is Sam Shelton who was also her teacher of Physical Education in the year 2001. Sam Shelton is currently serving prison time in Vienna Correctional Center, Illinois. There are no certain details about Sam’s previous life and history.

 His name has always been associated with Ashley as her ex-boyfriend who later turned her assassin. Ashley and Sam met again in 2006 and their love hit off right away but very soon tensions began to develop between the two.

Ashley was done with Sam’s assaults on her and she approached him with an intention to end the relationship. Sam did not like this at all. His immediate instincts were violent. He strangulated Ashley and pulled her out of the vehicle. Ashley at the time had become too weak to resist whereas Sam’s intention was to take her life.

 In the psychotic rant, Sam realized that her neck was broken. He panicked and then started using her hands to strangulate her. Then he left in the bush to die where Ashley Reeves was unconscious and traumatized for 30 hours. 

After 30 hours of being unconscious, Ashley Reeves was rescued by the police who initially thought she was dead but the movement in her hands sparked a ray of hope in the rescue team and they rushed towards the ER. Ashley was treated and she gained consciousness.

If Sam Shelton had known about her injuries, he would have never accepted committing such a crime to her. Due to the incident, Ashley Reeves suffered some traumatic brain injuries and has lost memory of that day. She claims that she has no clue what happened to her and who did it. The incident occurred in 2006, and as of 2023, Ashley is married and leading a normal life but has a faint memory of the event that had happened to her years ago. 

Doctors and the rescue team were shocked to see how someone after facing so many injuries was able to survive. Specialists were even sure that her body would be paralyzed for the rest of her life. But Ashley proved everyone wrong, survived and only forgot the most tragic incident in her life which in a way is good for her.

The police rounded up all the people who were in contact with Ashley recently. Just as a random check they also picked up Sam from his home. Police found something fishy in Sam’s alibi and he soon confessed after the law officials induced a little pressure.  

He even begged for his mistake before the court. His mother also gave a statement that her son repented the act and had attempted suicide. But none shall pass the judiciary, Sam was proven guilty and was sentenced to 20 years in prison was assault crimes and attempts to murder. He is currently locked up in Vienna Correctional Center, Illinois.
