Love was in the air for Abbey Clancy and Peter Crouch as they shared a passionate kiss after renewing their vows, 11 years on from first tying the knot.

Not fancying the chilly climes of the UK, the couple jetted off to a private island in the Maldives with their four children and family last month to declare their love for one another.

Pictures from the stunning ceremony show the daring lace dress Abbey, 36, wore which gave Pete ‘butterflies’ when she walked down the aisle.

Shunning famous designers, the mother-of-four opted for her friend and dress-maker Silvia to create the show-stopping gown.

The plunging number was made from vintage lace and was completely sheer – a daring move for Abbey who left little to the imagination with her lingerie visible beneath the dres.

In one striking wedding shot released by Hello! Magazine, Peter, who went barefoot on the sand, swept his wife off her feet as he kissed her on the lips as the sunset behind them – a nod to a photo taken during their 2011 wedding in Leicester.

The couple tied the knot on December 17 at the Anantara Dhigu Maldives Resort where villa prices range anywhere between £700 to £5,000 per night.

‘We started as a young couple together, and now here we are with our four kids walking us down the aisle. I feel like the luckiest person on earth,’ Abbey told the publication.

‘We were going to renew our vows on our ten-year anniversary, but with lockdown, we couldn’t do it… Pete’s quite romantic at heart; he has definitely earned himself brownie points for the next few years.’

Peter gushed: ‘Abbey looked incredible, and even after 11 years, I still got butterflies when she walked down the aisle, it was a stunning island, but Ab stole the show – I’m a lucky man.’

The couple tied the knot at the Stapleford Park hotel in Leicestershire in 2011, two years after announcing their engagement.

In echoes to their wedding, Abbey and Pete renewed their vows under an arch of white roses before the party tucked into a traditional Maldivian starters, which was followed by a surf-and-turf main course.

Peter and Abbey began dating in 2006, but briefly split during the European cup with the footballer releasing a statement at the time.

The statement said: ‘Whilst I do not ordinarily comment upon matters relating to my private life, I have read with dismay various recently articles and reports about my “relationship” with Abbey Clancy.

‘In light of this, I wish to make the situation absolutely clear: Abbey and I were in the very early stages of a relationship which, for a number of reasons, I decided a few weeks ago to end, and I accordingly informed Abbey of my decision.’

But it wasn’t long before they were back together, with the couple now parents to four children.

Back in June, Abbey celebrated their 11 year wedding anniversary by trying on her wedding dress.

The model easily slipped back into the size 6 Giles Deacon gown, and posed for a snap in it while standing in her dining room and wearing a pair of shades.

The Scouse beauty took to her Instagram Stories, where she uploaded the snap of herself in the sensational dress, adding: ‘It still fits! with the hashtag 11 years married.
