- The van severed in front of the HGV as the driver attempted to change lanesÂ
- Â Minor injuries were reported and repairs were made to a damaged streetlight
Shocking footage shows a van swerve in front of a lorry and flip onto its side just after crashing into a lamppost.
The unbelievable maneuver at a roundabout led to the transit van being clipped by the large lorry, before being overturned near the slip road.Â
The van driver appeared to change from the right-hand lane on the roundabout by attempting to cut in front of the lorry to get onto the M61 slip road near Bolton, Greater Manchester.
The lorry, which was in the left-hand lane, drove straight ahead and past the slip-road that the van driver was attempting to continue on as it cut in front.Â
Minor injuries were reported at the incident which happened at junction four on the southbound entry slip road to the motorway in May.
Realising what had just happened, the HGV driver and another van behind it, which had the same company branding as the one that flipped, stopped on the road.Â
The footage which was shared last month received some harsh criticism of driving skills.Â

One person commented on social media: ‘That has to be the worst manoeuvre ever.’
Another wrote: ‘I don’t how he thought he was going to make that.’
The incident caused huge traffic queues going back to Little Hulton on the A6 and even queues back to Royal Bolton Hospital.
A National Highways spokesperson said: ‘The M61 junction 4 southbound entry slip road was closed at 4pm today after an road traffic collision involving a van and a lorry.
‘The van overturned in the incident and only minor injuries were reported.
‘Emergency services and National Highways traffic officers attended the scene and the road remains closed for vehicle recovery and repairs to a damaged traffic signal post and a streetlight’.
A spokesman from Bolton Central Fire Station said that a fire engine from the station was at the scene, but that there was nothing for them to attend to and they returned to the station.
The crash which happened at 4pm on 12th May was cleared at just past 6pm, according to Transport for Greater Manchester.
Earlier this month, motorists criticised the 230-yard stretch which was excluded from a Clean Air Zone in Bristol due to a confusing diversion system.
