A shirtless man has been slapped with a $1,200 fine after he threw large rocks at an ex-neighbour as part of an ongoing residential dispute.
David Raymand Keenahan, 49, also hurled abuse and heckled the man as he pursued him in the street outside his Benowa home on the Gold Coast last April.Â
The former neighbour filmed Mr Keenahan as he hounded him, accusing the man of ‘stalking’ and trying to kill his mother, the Southport Magistrates Court heard.

The assault victim had approached Mr Keenahan on his property before the fracas spilled out onto the street, the court heard.Â
‘Walking past my house all the time? Come here,’ the 49-year-old yelled at the man.
The victim was heard laughing at Mr Keenahan, walking backwards while he filmed him on his phone.Â
‘Mate, I can walk from the park to here,’ he was heard yelling.Â

‘Nah, you dont’, Mr Keenahan screams, ‘f***ing dog …Â ‘f***ing try and kill my mum, hey?’Â
Mr Keenahan walked around the street picking up rocks to launch at the man, before he hit him on the right side of his back and caused a large, red welt.Â
‘It’s been ongoing abuse, this is not just a random thing,’ Mr Keenahan told reporters outside court on Monday, adding that he regretted his actions.Â
Defence lawyer Cheonton Strickland said his client had no criminal history and had been caring for his mum who has leukaemia, the Gold Coast Bulletin reported.Â
The carer pleaded guilty on Monday to assault occasioning bodily harm and was fined $1,200, with no conviction recorded.
The long-running row involved the assault victim allegedly spitting in Mr Keenahan’s face and threats between the pair.Â
‘My instructions are the complainant came onto the property the day of the offending, (and) he’s been asked to leave by Mr Keenahan,’ Mr Strickland told the court.Â
‘A verbal altercation has ensued, and Mr Keenahan has unfortunately pursued [him] up the street in an attempt to make him leave.’
He added Mr Keenahan admitted he had gone too far and had no intention to injure his former neighbour.
