Woolworths shopper finds handwritten review on butter chicken meal at Marrickville store

A Woolworths customer’s savage review of a popular microwaveable meal found in-store warning others not to buy it has gone viral online.

A Sydneysider was buying groceries at Woolies Marrickville Metro in the inner west when they spotted a bizarre handwritten note attached to a Coco Earth Butter Chicken with Naan meal on the shelf.

The critic rated the sauce as ‘OK’ but slammed the rest of the premade meal, which costs $6 and is ready to eat after 90 seconds in the microwave.

‘Chicken like eating old rope. Naan – inedible unless you like eating rubber. Same with Tikka,’ the note read.

A photo of the note was uploaded to Reddit two days ago, where it has since been upvoted 2,000 times.

The viral post has attracted more than 150 comments, where many agreed with the shopper’s critique.

‘I’ve had those, you’re better off eating the bowl,’ one user commented.

Another added: ‘Can you even call that stuff naan? It’s gotta be one of the worst things I’ve ever eaten. I hate letting food go to waste but I made an exception for these abominations.’

A third wrote: ‘Any time you can buy chicken which is covered in anything (sauce, coating, etc) I guarantee it will be the most garbage tier chicken.’

Many were grateful for the critic’s honest review, who was hailed a hero online.

‘Not the hero we wanted but the hero we needed,’ one person commented.

A Woolworths spokeswoman told Daily Mail Australia it appreciates all customer feedback on its products and will relay the feedback back to the supplier.

‘If customers ever have any feedback for our team, we encourage them to reach out to our Contact Centre or fill out the feedback form on our website,’ she added.
