Why Candice Warner has banned her cricketer husband David from getting an air fryer: ‘I just do not want one in my house’

Candice Warner has revealed her husband David is banned from buying an air fryer, so one of his mates helped him out by buying him one.

She revealed on Triple M Rush Hour with Gus, Jude & Wendell on Wednesday that David’s good friend and teammate Aaron Finch came to the rescue and ordered him the popular kitchen appliance because he was getting so desperate.

Candice shared the ‘funny story’ about the air fryer while explaining her husband’s strict allowance, which she insists upon because he’s so bad with money.

The former Ironwoman then explained her husband had to get creative and so asked his friend to order one for him online.

‘Finchy bought it knowing that I just did not want one in my house,’ she said.

‘It’s not that funny, but in the context [Finch] is such a generous person, he is funny, he is loveable and I think he’s going to be really missed.’

This comes as the Australian T20 captain has confirmed his retirement from international cricket.

Finch, 36, said: ‘Realising that I won’t be playing on until the next T20 World Cup in 2024, now is the right moment step down and give the team time to plan and build towards that event.

‘Team success is what you play the game for and the maiden T20 World Cup win in 2021 and lifting the ODI World Cup on home soil in 2015 will be the two memories I cherish the most.

‘To be able to represent Australia for 12 years and play with and against some of the greatest players of all time has been an incredible honour.

‘It has been a pretty amazing journey.’
