Gabriel Kuhn

16Gabriel Kuhn is a German-Austrian writer and editor. He is the author of several books, including All Power to the Councils! A Documentary History of the German Revolution of 1918-1919 (PM Press, 2012) and Libertarian Socialism: Politics in Black and Red (AK Press, 2015). He is also the editor of We Are an Anti-Capitalist Collective: The Revolutionary Praxis of Riazanov’s Institut für Marx-Engels-Studien (Institute for Marxism-Leninism Studies), forthcoming from Haymarket Books. He lives in Sweden.

Kuhn focuses on anarchism, socialism, soccer, and social movements. His writing has appeared in the International Herald Tribune, Le Monde diplomatique, The Independent, and many other publications. He is a regular contributor to the soccer magazine Spielverlagerung.

Gabriel Kuhn was born in Germany in 1966 and grew up in Austria. He studied philosophy, sociology, and history at the University of Vienna and the Sorbonne Nouvelle in Paris. He received his Ph.D. in history from the European University Institute in Florence, Italy. Kuhn has been active in social movements since the early 1990s. He was a founding member of Attac Austria and is a member of the Advisory Board of Attac Germany.
