Embattled rapper Travis Scott will hand himself over to NYPD investigators next week after he was accused of assaulting a sound engineer inside of a swanky Manhattan nightclub in the early hours of Monday morning.

Scott, 30, is accused of punching the 52-year-old man in the head and then damaging his equipment, including a video screen and speaker at a cost of around $12,000, inside Nebula nightclub.

The Astroworld rapper then returned to California. His lawyers are negotiating his return to the Big Apple with detectives, reports the New York Daily News. The Houston-native is on the bill for Saturday’s Rolling Loud hip-hop festival in LA.

In an interview with Fox New York, the victim of the attack said Scott flipped him off, over a request to turn the music down in order to improve the quality, and then attacked using a ‘closed fist’ police sources said.

‘My neck is f****d up. My arm is tingling. I have pins and needles going down,’ the man identified only as Mark said. A representative for the rapper told DailyMail.com that the incident was a ‘misunderstanding.’

‘I was trying to tell him to lower [the music] so it sounded good for the performance but he just stuck his middle finger in my face,’ Mark added. ‘So I lowered the monitor a little bit so I could talk to him, and that’s when he ran around the speaker and attacked me.’

Then, Scott’s security guard threatened Mark’s life, he said from his hospital bed in Jersey City Medical Center.

Prior to attacking Mark, Scott is accused of threatening and pushing a DJ. In a video from the club, Scott can be seen telling the DJ to ‘back the f*** up.’ Witnesses had said that the volume was causing distortion and the DJ was trying to restore the balance.

Once he realized he was being filmed, he also slapped the phone out of a fan’s hand.

Mark seemed confused by the rapper’s actions. ‘They’re people who were trying to sound the best you could,’ he said addressing Scott.

‘There were fans there trying to take pictures, you’re throwing their phones, you know — these are people who respect you, who want what’s best for you. Maybe you should calm down and listen to what the people who are supporting you are trying to say to you,’ he added.

Scott has insisted that the nightclub punch-up NYPD cops were called to was all a misunderstanding after a ‘great show’, despite being seen snapping at a DJ, punching a sound engineer in the face and throwing a fan’s phone to the ground.

Scott performed with Don Toliver, who has a weekly spot at Club Nebula, in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Videos show the pair performing to a packed crowd at the Times Square hotspot. They’d played another show earlier in the night at Irving Plaza.

‘There was also a verbal dispute at that location that ended in $12,000 worth of damage to equipment. At this time, no warrant is issued, and the suspect is not being sought. However, that may change,’ a spokesman told DailyMail.com.

Reps for Scott insist it was all a misunderstanding.

‘There have been discussions with the venue who confirmed this was a simple misunderstanding that was resolved in minutes. The show was great and never missed a beat.

‘This has the earmarks of a cash grab but will be resolved and all those with an agenda will be held accountable.’

‘Travis and our team already working with law enforcement to resolve and get to the truth,’ a source said.

His attorney, Mitchell Schuster, added in a statement: ‘While this is clearly a misunderstanding being blown out of proportion by clickbait and misinformation, we are actively working with the venue and law enforcement to resolve and set the record straight.

‘We are confident our client will be cleared of any wrongdoing.’

Hundreds more were injured at the event, where the rapper was accused of whipping the crowd into a frenzy. He insisted he did ‘everything he could’ to save the people who died. Scott was previously arrested for inciting riots at other shows.

Scott, who shares two children with Kylie Jenner, has not yet commented on the incident.

He and Kylie broke up again in January after spending the holidays together.

A source close to Jenner told DailyMail.com of the latest incident at the nightclub: ‘Travis’s anger issues are not anything new and were a huge part of why Kylie and he broke up.

‘This is not anything new and no one is surprised to learn that he got himself into this mess.’
