Motel Molly is the result of a multi-million dollar refurbishment and was designed in collaboration between Sydney-based Knox Developments team and interior design and architecture practice, Richards Stanisich.

Director of Richards Stanisich, Kirsten Stanisich said restoring the uber-chic motel was a ‘fine balancing act’.

‘A place of nostalgia and endless warmth, the motel’s next chapter celebrates the beauty of an Australian coastal setting while creating a new and exciting destination for locals and visitors alike,’ she said.

‘This involved designing a distinct palette that speaks to its local context in a contemporary manner; soft, natural textures and muted, creamy tones elevated with intricate details and striking patterns.’

Motel Molly opened on December 1 and is already drawing in five-star reviews from guests with one calling their stay ‘the perfect weekend escape’ while another said it was the ‘epitome of laid-back luxury’.

‘It feels like a luxurious European guesthouse but with Aussie beachside chill,’ said a third.
