Woman discovered in the BOOT of a car during bizarre traffic stop as a ‘drunk and drugged-up’ driver without a licence is caught behind the wheel

Police uncovered a woman allegedly travelling in the boot of a car during a bizarre Sunday morning traffic stop.

The 26-year-old man behind the wheel, who has never held an Australian driver’s licence, was charged with a string of offences after allegedly failing a roadside drug test and recording a blood-alcohol reading of 0.108 – more than twice the legal limit. 

Officers from Bankstown Highway Patrol in Sydney‘s southwest stopped the car on the Hume Highway in Greenacre following a ‘complaint from a member of the public’. 

Four other male passengers were also in the car when the woman in her 30s was allegedly discovered. 

Police said the driver was charged with mid-range drink driving, driving a passenger with no seatbelt and driving while unlicenced. 

He was granted conditional bail and is due to appear before Bankstown Local Court on Monday.
