Anthony Ramos looked ready to fight in the explosive new trailer for Transformers: Rise of the Beasts which came out Thursday. 

The trailer begins with a small sports car driving down a dirt road and then turning into an Autobot, the protagonist group of the film. 

As the robot transforms, the 31-year-old Ramos hops out of the driver’s side and grabs his backpack as he launches out of the car.

A line from the song Juicy by the Notorious B.I.G. plays over the clip as a title screen for the new movie comes up. 

The trailer then cuts between lush green forests and the Manhattan skyline with its towering metal high rises. 

As it plays up this juxtaposition, a metal gorilla robot  jumps from beneath a canopy of trees and slams down hard on the ground, howling as it does.

As Optimus heads for New York City, Bumblebee also appears in the trailer, jumping into his fully robot form. 

Anthony, who plays an ex-military electronics expert, gets into a Porsche which turns out to be an Autobot. 

The robot leads the police on a high-speed chase and uses tricky technology, such as creating a number of holograms of itself, to crash a police car.

‘Of all the threats from both your past and future, you’ve never faced anything like this,’ the gorilla tells Optimus. 

‘Let them come,’ he responds with grit and determination in his voice. 

The trailer ends with Judas and the Black Messiah actress Dominque Fishback freaking out about seeing the robots repeating, ‘This can’t be real.’ 

An Autobot gives her a little wave, and she says ‘O.K. this is real.’

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is the seventh live-action Transformers film. It follows Bumblebee, a spin-off about the titular character, which came out in 2018. 

Variety reported that the new movie will take place in the 1990s which Ramos’ character hailing from Brooklyn. 

Pete Davidson will lend his voice to the Porsche Ramos drives and Ron Perlman voices the gorilla, Optimus Primal. 

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is set for release on June 9, 2023.
