Kate Winslet has shut down claims a sequel to smash hit 2006 film, The Holiday, is in the works – after it was claimed the original cast were reuniting for a new movie.
Fans went into a frenzy after it was reported stars Cameron Diaz, 50, Jude Law, 49, Kate Winslet, 47, and Jack Black, 53, were all on board for the sequel.
But Kate, who played journalist Iris in the rom-com, told People: ‘I read something about that, but it’s the first I’ve heard of it.
‘I promise you not an agent or a representative or anyone from the first one around has had any conversation with me about that. Hand on heart, that’s never come up.’

Writer and director Nancy Meyers also took to Instagram to debunk rumors of a sequel, writing: So many DM’s about this – sorry but it’s not true.’
The original movie, written and directed by Meyers, told the tale of Surrey-based journalist Iris who swaps homes with Amanda (Cameron), a movie producer from Hollywood, following respective heartbreaks.
While in Surrey, Amanda finds romance with Iris’s book editor brother, widower Graham (Jude Law), while Iris meets Miles (played by Jack Black) and dates him.
The heartwarming romcom’s sequel will track the lovebirds and see how they’re all getting on 16 years after finding love.
A source had previously told The Sun: ‘The plan is to start filming next year. The main talent are all signed up.’

‘It’ll be funny, poignant, and heartwarming – just what everyone wants for Christmas.’
When it was originally released, The Holiday was greeted with mixed reviews with some critics calling it predictable. However, it went on to earn more than £160million at the box office.
One star who won’t be in the sequel is Eli Wallach, who died of natural causes in 2014 at the age of 98.
Eli stole the show in the movie playing Arthur Abbott, an elderly screenwriter who had lived and worked through Hollywood’s Golden Age and befriend Kate’s character Iris.
The Hollywood legend was 90 when The Holiday came out and continued to work right up to 2010.

News of the sequel comes after Cameron did a U-turn on her decision to retire from acting.
Jamie Foxx convinced the actress to return to the silver screen and star alongside him in the action-comedy Back In Action, which began shooting at the end of September.
The 54-year-old actor notably brought in Tom Brady in an effort to coax the formerly retired actress back from her long-term break.
Back In Action’s prospective release date has not been announced as of yet.
Cameron’s last film was the 2014 remake of Annie, revealing she retired because she wanted to step back and ‘take a look at what the whole picture looks like for me.’
