Tennessee Titans dump Taylor Lewan’s possessions on his doorstep in TRASH BAGS after releasing him following nine years on the team – but the outgoing left tackle admits he didn’t expect ‘golden suitcases’ at his door
NFL free agent Taylor Lewan posted a photo to social media of his Tennessee Titans gear placed outside his front door.
Lewan was released by Tennessee Wednesday following nine seasons with the franchise alongside wide receiver Robert Woods and kicker Randy Bullock in a salary cap dump.
The three-time Pro Bowler showed social media how his cleats and other items were left.Â
It is unclear why Lewan did not clean out his locker as is usually custom following an NFL season.Â
‘Shout out to the @Titans dropping my stuff off today,’ he said Monday via Twitter. ‘They even let me keep the shoulder pads,’ followed by a salute emoji.Â

The three-time Pro Bowl tackle posted a photo of his belongings – brought to him in trash bags
Yahoo Sports shared the post on its Instagram with a critical tone, only for Lewan to reply and suggest the Titans had few options other than to drop off his gear in trash bags.Â
‘BUT, what other way would they drop off my stuff? Golden suitcases?’
Lewan left the Titans amicably after a near-decade of largely excellent service for the Nashville franchise.Â
His release had been expected since an ACL tear last September. Resultantly, he was placed on injured reserve.Â
Lewan started 100 of 105 games played for Tennessee. His podcast Bussin’ With the Boys announced his release on social media, and Lewan, who turns 32 in July, retweeted the post with his own message to Titans’ fans.
‘I hope I did enough to create something all the titan fans can be proud of, I love you all,’ he wrote.
It is uncertain whether Lewan will continue his NFL career or if he will retire altogether and continue to foster his burgeoning sports media career.
‘I have to go into a situation that I’ve never been in in my entire life: I have to weigh the pros and cons of playing football, or not playing football,’ he said, via Tennessee Titans.
Speaking on Bussin’ with the Boys, Lewan said he ‘would not go play for an AFC South team’ due to his loyalty to the Titans.Â
Without giving much away on his future, Lewan did mention – several times – ‘the Bengals need a left tackle.’Â
