Bride and glory! Stunning images show the winners of the International Wedding Photographer of the Year
These couples were lucky enough to have their special days captured in award-winning style by their wedding photographers.
From epic images in the rain to a groom chasing a veil on a windy day in Melbourne, this year’s winners of the sixth International Wedding Photographer of the Year have certainly captured some spectacular pictures.
This year there were 10 categories in the competition, such as best solo portrait and dance floor photo, as well as an overall grand winner and a runner-up.
The highest accolade went to Dee Kampe of Finder Seeker Photography from Melbourne, Australia, who out-ranked more than 1,700 images submitted by over 330 wedding photographers worldwide.
Dee captured a groom trying to catch his partner’s veil after a gust of wind unexpectedly took off with it, explaining: ‘While Jono went racing after it, (bride) Liana, amused by the whole debacle laughed and embraced the situation for what it was.’

‘I instinctively began photographing and this frame was captured a few seconds into the veil’s escape,’ the photographer recalled.
‘Did they get the veil back? Yes they did. After lifting some 50 meters into the air we assumed it was long gone, but it had come to rest half-way up a telephone pole on the opposite side of the street. But that’s another story.’
The runner-up was Matteo Lomonte, from Italy, who captured a bride and groom leaving their ceremony surrounded by loved ones.
Meanwhile, the winner of Epic Location was Emily Peters. The winning photograph showed a couple watching a sunrise in the Isle of Skye.
