A bakery in San Francisco has called out the area’s liberal politicians after the shop was broken into for a sixth time on Monday amid the city’s continued crime wave.

Le Marais Bakery is located in the Castro District on Sanchez Street in the city and was the victim of burglars again on December 26.

Owner Patrick Ascaso said on Facebook: ‘They took everything from our Castro cafĂ© last night, even our industrial safe from the basement.’

Burglars also took iPads, materials from their sales counter and ripped out cables, with manager Youssra Meknassi wondering ‘why they had to trash the place.’

Ascaso directly called out Democrats, including San Francisco Mayor London Breed, California Governor Gavin Newsom and even departing Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi in his post.

He asked: ‘If you cannot protect San Francisco’s small, local, family-owned businesses, how can our city thrive? We are heartbroken. We put so much heart into this location, we take such good care to make it beautiful and serve beautiful food and do our best on every level, and this is just too sad. It happens over and over and nothing changes.’

Perhaps most outrageously, the bakery’s industrial safe was taken, despite being screwed to the restaurant’s basement floor.

Meknassi told CBS Bay Area: ‘I don’t know what they did to unscrew it from the floor, but yeah. It’s not like it’s our first rodeo.’

Crime is up four percent in San Francisco in 2022, despite having recalled leftist reform District Attorney Chesa Boudin earlier in the year.

Larcenies and robbery thefts are up 4.9 and 9 percent, respectively, according to the city’s crime dashboard. San Francisco police did not comment on the break-in.

Meknassi was distraught at having to put everything back together the day after Christmas.

She said: ‘It’s just sad. Everyone put their effort into this place and we try to make it nice. It happens over and over again.’

Owner Ascaso pleaded: ‘Please, San Francisco and California leaders, do more to care for our city and its small businesses. We deserve better. Our communities deserve better.’

A mass exodus has been occurring in the city since the pandemic struck in 2020, and many office spaces were abandoned.

That means the city’s streets have become increasingly dangerous, with many locals avoiding downtown’s sidewalks for fear of a violent encounter with one of the many vagrants and drug abusers who’ve taken over.

Brooke Jenkins, Boudin’s replacement, has vowed to take a tougher stance on so-called quality-of-life crimes including theft and public drug taking.

The City’s Castro Merchants Association, meanwhile, which represents roughly 125 businesses, sent a letter to the city government in August, threatening to withhold tax payments if the city doesn’t get the homelessness issue under control.

Other metros to top the list included other Democratic-run locales such as Portland and Washington, DC, which have both been grappling with a similar surge in homelessness and violence.
