Royal news LIVE: Kate Middleton’s very glamorous night out and latest on Meghan Markle

Welcome to FEMAIL’s live coverage of South African president Cyril Ramaphosa’s second day of his state visit to London. 

It’s very much a case of the morning after the night before…after Mr Ramaphosa enjoyed an opulent royal banquet on Tuesday evening at Buckingham Palace. 

Hosted by King Charles III and Camilla Queen Consort, the extravagant banquet saw the royals don their finery for the lavish occasion – the King’s first state visit since ascending the throne.  

After greeting the South African PM yesterday morning, the Prince and Princess of Wales also attended the evening banquet alongside other senior royals, with Kate Middleton, 40, wearing a a gem-embellished white ballgown from her favoured designer Jenny Packham.

The Princess of Wales, wearing a a gem-embellished white ballgown from her favoured designer Jenny Packham, appeared to chat happily with the South African premier as she accompanied into the event last night (pictured) 

Guests at the extravagant occasion last night dined on  a lavish menu of two mains: grilled brill with wild mushrooms, truffles and sorrel sauce or ballotine of Windsor Pheasant filled with artichokes, quince compote and port sauce
