House Speaker Kevin McCarthy revealed on Tuesday that embattled Republican Rep. George Santos is facing a House Ethics investigation.Ā
‘Ethics is moving through, and if Ethics finds something, we’ll take action,’ McCarthy told CNN. ‘Right now we’re not allowing him to be on committees from the standpoint of the questions that have arisen.’Ā
The New York Republican, dubbed the Long Island Liar for the many fabrications he made about his biography, told the network he was ‘not concerned’ about the House Ethics investigation.Ā
Santos has been under fire since before he was sworn-in, after The New York Times found no record of him studying atĀ Baruch College or working atĀ Citigroup and Goldman Sachs, claims he made on his campaign website.Ā
Other lies were unspooled from there, with the latest development involving sexual harassment claims filed against Santos from a prospective staffer.Ā Ā

A man named Derek Myers alleged that Santos ‘touched’ his groin during a January 25 meeting in Santos’ office.Ā
The New York Republican said he ‘100 percent’ denied the claims and dismissed Myers’ allegations as ‘comical,’ according to CNN.
Myers said he filed a police report and a House Ethics complaint.Ā
On Tuesday, several dozen of Santos’ constituents from New York’s third Congressional district stood outside the Capitol Building chanting ‘hey, hey, ho, ho Santos has got to go.’Ā
Rep. Dan Goldman, a New York Democrat and former impeachment lawyer, was one of the speakers.Ā Ā
