‘Dad, tell me there’s a way out of this,’ Taron asks.

‘Not a quick one,’ Big Jim replies.

Jimmy is then seen offered a chance for freedom.

Jimmy is asked to transfer to a maximum security prison specializing in the criminally insane in order to elicit a confession from a man suspected of killing 14 women.

‘We would like to transfer you to another prison and befriend someone to elicit a confession,’ he is told.

‘We suspected this man killed 14 women but we only have one of the bodies,’ another chimes in.

‘You want me to check into hell and befriend a demon? Not for all the money in the world,’ Taron says.

Jimmy is then informed Hall’s conviction is on appeal.

‘He could win and walk. You have the chance to stop him,’ Jimmy is told. ‘Don’t approach him too early or he’ll know we sent you for him,’ she advises him.

Larry already seems to suspect something when he encounters Jimmy in prison.

‘Why are you looking at me like that, like you know me?’ he asks.

‘Accelerate your time table. If he walks, he’ll kill. Again and again,’ Jimmy is told.

‘If you think you could be in danger,’ Larry tells Jimmy through prison bars. ‘You are in danger.’

Black Bird, set for release on Apple TV+ on July 8, marks Liotta’s final TV role.
