New York Jets ‘trade for Baltimore Ravens safety Chuck Clark’ as Gang Green add secondary depth amid reports Aaron Rodgers pursuit is close
The New York Jets are already making moves ahead of the upcoming NFL trading period, according to reports.
NFL insider Adam Schefter tweeted Gang Green had agreed a trade with Baltimore for starting safety, Chuck Clark.
In exchange, the Ravens will reportedly receive a 2024 seven-round pick for the 27-year-old.
As the new league year has not begun, the trade cannot be officially processed until Wednesday. In 2023, Clark will cost the Jets just $3.64million, per Spotrac.
New York are doing their utmost to acquire one of the league’s greatest offensive weapons in Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, with the franchise ‘optimistic’ about their chances.

The 27-year-old started in every game during the 2022 season for the AFC North franchise
Clark made 101 tackles, forced one fumble and recovered a fumble during the regular season.
Across the previous four seasons, Clark started 61 games for Baltimore. With Marcus Williams and burgeoning sophomore star, Kyle Hamilton at safety, Clark was evidently considered to be surplus to the team’s needs.
Clark’s arrival in Florham Park will allow the Ravens to clear $4.1m in cap space.
The 27-year-old was drafted in the sixth round of the 2017 NFL Draft out of Virginia Tech.
Earlier Thursday, reports emerged New York will receive wide receiver and returner, Braxton Berrios, at the beginning of the new league year.
According to Adam Schefter, the parties were unable to agree to a contract restructure. The move will save the Jets $5m on the cap.
As it pertains to Rodgers, Gang Green believe they are on ‘the brink’ of acquiring four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers, according to ESPN’s Dianna Russini.
On Twitter, Russini explained that Jets owner Woody Johnson left a meeting between his team’s brass and Rodgers this week, feeling ‘excited and satisfied about the potential match.’
