At one stage, McGinest grabbed a bottle and could be seen smashing it over the man’s head several times before tossing it to one side and calmly walking away.
The incident occurred December 9 at the venue on Santa Monica Boulevard with witnesses identifying McGinest as one of the people who were involved, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement.
The assault unfolded particularly quickly with McGinest walking up to the man and speaking with him before slugging him in the face with a left hook.
The man was pummeled together with at least three other men who also appeared to want a piece of the action.Â
Bystanders were to be completely powerless to do anything to stop the beating as the punches rained down for at least 30 seconds before there was any sign of a letup.Â
By the time the brawl was over, the victim, who has yet to be publicly identified, was helped to his feet, though he appeared shaken and unsteady on his feet.Â
