An Australian model who struggled with pigmentation on her face has showed off what four months of using a customised prescription-grade skincare product did for her skin.
Maddie Edwards, who lives in Los Angeles, approached the founders of The Secret Skincare four months ago to help with the discolouration of her face.
Skin clinic owner Dr Clara Hurst and GP Dr Deb Cohen-Jones met in 2019 and saw a gap in the market for ‘highly effective solutions’ for cosmetic skin conditions like acne, rosacea, fine lines, skin laxity and pigmentation.
They soon launched Australia’s first prescription only skincare range and have since wowed customers through powerful custom-made products tailored to their specific concerns.

DR CLARA
Dr Clara told FEMAIL she keeps it ‘super simple’ and admits it’s easy to get overwhelmed with all the products, fads and treatments in the beauty industry.
She describes her approach as ‘very minimalist and science-based’ and opts for products and brands she trusts instead of a ’10-step skincare routine’.
‘Over time I’ve found (and developed!) my own hero products that have allowed me to strip back my beauty routine,’ she said.

‘When it comes to beauty I’ve always loved that effortless and “untouched” look, not only in my approach to injectables, but in my personal style.’
Every day Dr Clara relies on a Medik8 Oil Cleanser, followed by The Secret Essentials Set and a tinted Mesoestetic sunscreen.
‘Because I’ve invested heavily in the health of my skin, I have the luxury letting it breathe throughout the week and leaving makeup for special occasions,’ she said.
‘You can’t imagine how much time this saves!’
She also makes sure to support her skin from the inside out and uses By Beth Collagen in a smoothie every morning.
DR DEB
Dr Deb told FEMAIL in addition to a regular skincare routine she makes sure she is always well hydrated and tries to avoid too much alcohol.
She is also lactose and dairy-free, eats minimal sugar and is an advocate for wholegrains, whole goods, greens, collagen and Vitamin D supplements.
Every morning Dr Deb starts off with a Tatcha Cleansing Oil followed by The Secret Serum, Eye Serum and Day Brightening Elixir (alternating between sensitive and regular).

She also uses the Rationale 50+ Tinted Serum and Ultra Violette suncreen as well as the Aspect Fruit Enzyme Mask two to three days per week.
At night she uses the Medik8 Lipid Balancing Cleanser, The Secret Cellular Repair Night Cream and the Cellular Repair Night Eye Cream.
Every third night she uses a Tatcha Face Oil and every second night she uses an Omnilux LED mask before her Cellular Repair.
In summer she uses an extra pump of serum, reapplies sunscreen if needed and uses Cellular Repair more often due to increased pigmentation
‘The goal when creating The Secret has always been a flawless complexion without any makeup,’ she said.
‘My skin has never looked better than it does with my current regime and my regime literally takes three minutes.’
