Madonna releases the demo version of her song Back That Up To The Beat while visiting Malawi with her children

Madonna dropped the demo version of her song with an accompanying video filmed in Mchinji, Malawi on Friday.

In a new clip shared to her Instagram, the Queen of Pop, 64, was seen with Malawian children who danced cheerfully to the rereleased version of her 2019 song Back That Up To The Beat.

The multi-Grammy Award-winning singer often visits Malawi and this time, she returned to release her song while supporting Raising Malawi.

While visiting the country, she was joined by three of her six children – Rocco, 22, David, 17, and Mercy James, 16 – to share her song. 

She wrote in her caption: ‘Back that up to the Beat……in Malawi’ and ‘streaming on all platforms now !!’

The clip showed multiple people dancing joyously to the singer’s song – that is now streaming.

In the video, she was spotted wearing a Gucci outfit.

She sported a beige, wide-brimmed hat with the luxury brand’s logo and a scarf around her neck. 

Underneath her hat, she styled her bright orange tresses in two pigtail braids.

She wore a sage green zip-up fitted hoodie and carried a Gucci phone strap across her torso as she shared hugs with the children. 

The music icon also wore camouflage capri pants and suede boots as she watched the children enjoy her music.

Back That Up To The Beat was originally released on her most recent studio album Madame X in 2019.

However, the song dates back to 2015 and now she has released that demo version  along with a new sped-up version after her hit went viral on TikTok.

According to the charity’s mission statement, Raising Malawi is dedicated to helping with the extreme poverty and hardship endured by Malawi’s one million orphans, primarily through health and education programming.

In 2008, she released the documentary I Am Because We Are, a film that documented the lives of orphans in Malawi where around 500,000 children have lost their parents to HIV and AIDS.

The film was written, narrated, and produced by Madonna herself through her production company Semtex Films.

At the film’s screening in Cannes in 2018, she said: ‘To say that this film is a labor of love is trivial. It’s also the journey of a lifetime.
