‘I didn’t want people to see how big I was’: Love Island’s Claudia Fogarty reveals she used to ‘always hide’ her body before three stone weight loss

Love Island star Claudia Fogarty has candidly revealed she used to ‘always hide’ her body before losing weight, as she detailed her struggles with confidence.

The reality star had one of the most memorable villa entrances when she danced in an eye-catching red lace bodysuit and wings, but has detailed her own battles with insecurities before appearing on the show.

The blonde beauty said she never lets people in on how she’s feeling and still struggles with insecurities.

The daughter of motorbike legend Carl Fogarty revealed that despite losing an incredible three stone, she finds it hard to look at herself in the mirror.

Speaking to former Love Island star Scott Thomas on his podcast, Learning As I Go, she said: ‘I feel like I’ve never ever been a confident person. Everyone sees me as this funny, happy, bubbly ball of energy.

‘I’ll never show how I’m actually feeling and sometimes I’m feeling very insecure.’

Addressing her weight loss, Blackburn-based Claudia admitted that she hadn’t looked after herself during a relationship and when it ended, knew something had to be done.

She revealed: ‘I looked in the mirror and thought, ”What are you doing?” I was a lot heavier and I didn’t feel good in myself. I just let myself go.’

Claudia admitted that whenever her picture was being taken, she came up with tactics to not be front and centre of the image.

‘In pictures I would always hide, I’d stand in the middle and had a way of being in a picture and editing them.

‘I didn’t want people to see how big I actually was. It wasn’t until I took a picture with no clothes on and literally saw the raw picture of me, that I was like, ‘Oh my God’.’

It was only after a weigh-in session with her PT where she ended up in tears, that Claudia said she knew something needed to change.

It was then that she started her own wellness journey into feeling good about herself.

After she began to walk more, work out at the gym and cut down on alcohol, she started to see results.

Despite her stunning appearance, Claudia admits that her weight is something she will always struggle with and is aware keeping it off is a lifestyle change that she has to be consistent with.

She admitted: ‘It’s hard for me just to be one weight. ‘It’s a hard thing and don’t think I’ll ever come to terms with it. It’s a battle.’

This comes after the news the clothing boutique owner underwent a stream of ‘tweakments’ ahead of her TV appearance.

The procedures included a tear trough filler, chin/jawline filler, antiwrinkle injections, an Aquatite facial & a course of laser hair removal, totalling an average cost of £2500.
