Kourtney Kardashian spreads Christmas cheer by volunteering with LA based charity

Kourtney Kardashian volunteered to help the Los Angeles based charity, A Sense Of Home, on Friday, and assisted a mother and her young children move into a fully furnished home after experiencing homelessness. 

The reality star, 43, shared special moments with an Instagram photo series, and explained to her followers that working with the organization was a, ‘Christmas tradition for me and my kids.’ 

Earlier on Thursday, Khloe and Kim Kardashian also spread some Christmas cheer by spending time with the nonprofit, Alexandria’s House, which offers women and children a safe space while transitioning from homelessness to more permanent housing.

A ‘tradition’: Kourtney Kardashian, 43, spent time to help the charity, A Sense Of Home, on Friday to assist a mother and her children move into a home after experiencing homelessness

Kourtney uploaded various photos taken while creating a special home for a mother named, Taquisha, and her two children. 

In the caption of the post, the mother of three penned to her 206 million fans that, ‘It has become a Christmas tradition for me and my kids to join one of my favorite organizations @asenseofhome in creating a home for a foster youth who has aged out of the foster system.’ 

The TV personality shared a group photo taken with other volunteers after moving furniture and other essentials into the home. She could be seen wearing a vibrant red shirt and comfortable black pants for the busy day. 

The star explained that, ‘We start with a full truck and an empty house and put our love and energy into unloading furniture, bedding, mattresses, towels, kitchen utensils and so much more and putting it all together and in place.’

With the holiday weekend just around the corner, Kourtney added that as a special addition, ‘We also brought a Christmas tree, gifts, and stockings to spread a little Christmas cheer!’

The charity ‘strives to prevent homelessness by creating first-ever homes for youth aging out of foster care,’ and has created around 630 homes since its official start in 2014, according to the official website.  

Kourtney then penned a heartfelt tribute to Taquisha, expressing that she, ‘overcame homelessness to secure a roof over her daughters’ heads, and next year she’s starting her journey towards achieving her dream of becoming a real estate agent!’ 

The Poosh founder gushed that Taquisha was ‘an inspiration’ and is praying that, ‘all her dreams come true,’ and, ‘that her new home is filled with peace and love.’ 

Other celebrities have worked closely with A Sense Of Home, including actress Jennifer Garner, and Babylon star, Tobey Maguire. 

The star shared a short clip of Taquisha’s surprised reaction when she first walked into her new home. She also uploaded photos of the finished rooms, along with the mother’s daughter taking a look at her bedroom and toys.

Kourtney, along with other volunteers, spent time placing furniture throughout the new home. She also had help from her three children, Mason, 13, Penelope, 10, and Reign, 8, whom she shares with her ex, Scott Disick. 

Earlier this year, the businesswoman also partnered with the nonprofit called, This Is About Humanity, reported Elle, with the charity also collaborating with Healthy Baby.

According to the publication, Kourtney expressed on an Instagram story at the time, ‘My wish for 2022 is for families to be together.’ 

The nonprofit was created to help ‘bring separated families together,’ the official website stated.

While Kourtney spent time with A Sense Of Home, her sisters Khloe and Kim visited Alexandria’s House in Los Angeles on Thursday, a nonprofit that offers a ‘transitional home for women and children.’ 

Kim’s daughter, North West, along with Khloe’s daughter, True Thompson, and niece, Dream Kardashian, were also brought along to help women and children at the home. 

The stars helped sponsor fun makeovers, which was followed by a special photo shoot opportunity. They also gave out special gift boxes to the women and children to celebrate the holiday season.

The Good American founder uploaded a post on her Instagram page to shed ‘spotlight’ on the organization, ‘that has provided shelter, childcare, counseling and job readiness for hundreds of homeless women for the past 25 years in Los Angeles.’
