Jeremy Strong was spotted at the premiere of the fourth and final season of Succession in New York City on Monday evening.

The 44-year-old actor put on a casual display in a monochromatic brown ensemble as made his appearance on the red carpet with his wife Emma Wall and later posed with his costars.

The Armageddon Time star – who won a Primetime Emmy Award for his outstanding performance in the leading role in 2020 – plays Kendall Roy in the HBO dark comedy hit series.

At the premiere night of the upcoming season, Strong was also spotted sharing a laugh with Brian Cox – after he commented his on-screen son’s method acting was ‘f*cking annoying’ – and many of his other his costars in the show.

The on-screen father-son duo were seen with Alan Ruck, Kieran Culkin, and Sarah Snook – who confirmed she is pregnant with her first child by debuting her baby bump at the premiere.

For his red carpet appearance, Strong opted for an effortlessly stylish look all in one color while his wife donned all black.

He sported a light brown blazer over a hooded jacket and collared top in a slightly darker shade.

To match, he also donned a pair of warm brown trousers but added a pop of color with green sneakers tied in contrasting magenta laces.

He accessorized simply with silver bracelets, a signet ring, and his wedding ring.

On the red carpet, he also posed with his special guest – his wife of around seven years.

By his side, the child psychiatrist and documentary filmmaker – who exchanged vows with Strong at a castle in Denmark in 2016 – donned a simple yet stylish, dark outfit that brought out her light blonde hair and bright complexion.

The co-founder of Guest House Productions sported a black, velvet blouse with satin buttons and the matching pants.

The long-sleeved top featured a slightly-ruffled, glossy collar and matching cuffs that she tied in altogether with a pair of black, shiny ballet flats.

On the red carpet, Strong was also seen sharing a laugh with Cox – suggesting there is no beef after his recent critiques about his on-screen son’s way of acting.

Previously, the 76-year-old actor – who plays the role of the family patriarch – said it was ‘f*cking annoying’ when Strong remains in character on-set as part of his method acting technique.

At the end of February, Cox was asked what it is like being around someone who is always in character in an interview with Town and Country.

‘Oh, it’s f*cking annoying,’ he said in response, slamming method acting in general. ‘Don’t get me going on it.’

Strong is known for dedicating and incorporating strict method acting in all of his performances – including his role as Kendall Roy in Succession.

‘I take him as seriously as I take my own life,’ Strong had stated previously about practicing ‘identity diffusion’ and his character in an interview with The New Yorker in December 2021.

According to The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute, method acting is a rehearsal technique that ‘trains actors to use their physical, mental and emotional self in the creation of a character’.

By definition, The Method encourages actors to fully inhabit their role both on and off the screen.

‘It’s just there and is accessible,’ Cox said, claiming that acting is just an innate talent. ‘It’s not a big f*cking religious experience.’

The Manhunter star praised Strong for his talent but also said he would not ‘lose’ his talent by taking a moment from embodying his character off-screen.

‘He’s f*cking gifted,’ Cox stated. ‘When you’ve got the gift, celebrate the gift. Go back to your trailer and have a hit of marijuana, you know?’

At the Toronto Film Festival in September, Cox had once again criticized Strong’s method acting techniques – which he called ‘American sh*t‘.

He also revealed he does not hold on to the characters he plays after production is wrapped – unlike actors such as Strong.

‘I don’t hold a lot of the American sh*t – having to have a religious experience every time you play a part,’ he had stated, according to The Hollywood Reporter. ‘It’s cr*p.’

All of the criticism comes out of care for Strong as Cox previously admitted he worries about the ‘pain’ his on-screen son puts himself through to play the part.

In the same article by The New Yorker, Cox responded to Strong’s profile. ‘The result that Jeremy gets is always pretty tremendous,’ he said. ‘I just worry about what he does to himself.’

He added: ‘I worry about the crises he puts himself through in order to prepare.’

‘I don’t know how popular the way I work is amongst our troupe,’ Strong had also stated in the same article.

But since his character, Kendall Roy, is considered the black sheep in the family, perhaps this method really do add more realism to the onscreen dynamic in the satirical tragicomedy and contributes to the success it is today.
