Jamie Oliver‘s son Buddy impressed fans this week after the celebrity chef shared a throwback video of the then-10-year-old whipping up a tuna pasta dish on Instagram.
In a clip which was shared on the star’s social media yesterday and is believed to have been filmed two years ago, Buddy, now 12, was in high spirits as he made a ‘super easy’ tuna pasta recipe, which he said was ‘delicious.’
He showed off his knife skills as he chopped up leek and garlic for the recipe, before adding a tin of tomatoes and tuna, and cooking the pasta.
Sharing the clip, which was branded ‘Cooking Buddies’, Jamie wrote: ‘Who’s on #HalfTerm this week? My boy Buddy has a load of delicious recipes for you and the kids to get stuck into over on my website like this super easy tuna pasta…he gets his love of pasta from his dad haha.’
Many of the chef’s followers were blown away by the video, with one writing: ‘I think he might be following in Daddy’s footsteps, but with his own style. I like it!’
Jamie Oliver’s son Buddy impressed fans this week after the celebrity chef shared a video of his then-10-year-old whipping up a tuna pasta dish on Instagram
Sharing the clip, which was branded ‘Cooking Buddies’, Jamie said his son got his love of pasta from his fatherÂ
Meanwhile another wrote: ‘You are definitely son of your father.’Â
A third added: ‘Knife skills better than most adults!’
A fourth commented he was a ‘mini Jamie’, while another wrote: ‘He’s a natural.’
At the start of the video, an enthusiastic Buddy said: ‘Hi guys, it’s me Buddy and today I’m going to show you how to make one of my favourite dishes –Â tuna pasta.
‘The thing is I’ve never made it before and we’re just going to see how it goes. And you’re going to come with me!’
He explained he was going to chop up a leek, using a ‘tap chopping’ method, saying: ‘You want nice thin slices.’
He then used a ‘cross-chop method’ to chop the leeks into smaller pieces, adding the chunks to an oily pan.
He added a chilli, explaining: ‘After I’ve chopped the chilli, I’m going to wash my hands, because once I was on a trip once and I touched a chilli and touched my eyes.
Meanwhile many of Jamie’s fans praised the 10-year-old in the video, with some calling him ‘a natural’ in the kitchenÂ
‘It did not work out, I can’t say it was the best thing that ever happened to me.’
Impersonating his mother with a high-pitched voice, he said: ‘My mum told me not to do it, she was like, “No Buddy, don’t do that! It’s not a good idea!”‘
He added his garlic to the pan, saying: ‘You can see all the leeks and chilli have carmalised, but be careful at this stage because you don’t want to get burnt.’
He added a tin of tomatoes, pouring them into his hands and squeezing the tomatoes to release their juices.
He said: ‘We’re now going to add the tuna, we’re going to flake it into here.’
In the clip, the then-10-year-old could be seen carefully slicing a leek and offering cooking tips to Jamie’s fansÂ
He went on to whip together the tuna dish, before adding spaghetti to a pan, calling the meal ‘lovely’Â
Buddy added a pinch of pepper and a little water, before cooking his spaghetti, saying: ‘The pasta will naturally soften.’
After draining the pasta, and pouring it into the sauce, he said: ‘Lovely, lovely lovely.’
He mixed up the pasta and sauce, before putting the meal onto a plate. He added: ‘Don’t be mean to me in the comments!’
He cheekily wiped the side of the plate using his sleeve, before grating parmesan onto the top of the dish.
He said: ‘Let’s try it! This is definitely better than Dads.’Â Â
Buddy is one of celebrity chef Jamie’s five children whom he shares with his wife Jools and appears to share his love of cooking (pictured, Jamie and Jools Oliver with their children, Poppy, Daisy, Petal and River)
The video was praised by Jamie’s followers, with even A-lister Jennifer Anniston liking the clip.Â
Jamie shares four other children with his wife Jools, Poppy, 20, Daisy, 19, Petal, 13, and River, six.
Buddy isn’t the only celebrity child to try his hand at cooking in recent weeks.Â
David and Victoria Beckham’s son Brooklyn has been cooking for Instagram videos over the past few years as he shares basic tips with his followers on meals such as burgers and sandwiches.    Â
