Kimarie Wright, 26, was arrested and charged with murder and voluntary manslaughter in connection with Davidson’s killing.
Surveillance video showed Davidson enter the restaurant, approach Wright and hit her, according to police. Wright then pulled out a handgun and Davidson and others ran out of the building.
Wright then followed Davidson to the exit of the restaurant and fired multiple shots at her and others fleeing before walking back into the building, according to ABC 57.
‘I don’t know if I have any tears left,’ said South Bend Police Chief Scott Ruszkowski.
Ruszkowski said that Davidson and Wright knew one another and that people tried to break up the altercation before it met its tragic end.

‘You have the Davidson family now that’s doubly affected, that’s still reeling from a five-year-old being killed, and now we have this on top of it all. I can’t even imagine or fathom what that family is going to have to contend with from here on out,’ said the local police chief

James Mueller, a former aide to predecessor and now Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, has seen nine gun deaths so far in the first five months of 2022.
‘It’s hard to believe that just senseless violence is compounding trauma from previous trauma. We have to break the cycle as soon as possible,’ Mueller said to WSBT. ‘This isn’t fate. This is something we can choose to do. We can come together as a community and put an end to this.’
‘It’s OK to disagree, it’s OK to have some opinions that get emotionally heated, but you can’t bring guns to those. You have to figure out how to resolve these issues peacefully,’ he added.
