The neighbors of a private investigator who allegedly raped and tortured his roommate have revealed the screams and banging that came from the house.
One woman, who asked not to be named, said the blood-curdling noises led them to call cops on Peter McGuire over his treatment of the 22-year-old victim.
It comes after police released a mugshot of the 59-year-old from Chino Hills, California, amid fears he may have committed more atrocities.
He is accused of horrific abuse of his roommate who he allegedly raped, gouged out her eye, ‘disabled’ her tongue and slit her nose, ear and lip.
The victim moved into McGuire’s home but when she decided to move out he allegedly refused to let her leave and kept her against her will.
He has since pleaded not guilty to ten charges including kidnapping, mayhem and sodomy by use of force.

Neighbors have now told how they heard horrific noises echoing from the ‘house of horrors’ during the alleged abuse.
One told the Sun: Another neighbor that reported some banging on the wall, and he called police because he could hear the banging and he could hear screams for help.
‘I think, some people were too scared to say something, or maybe they did call the police. But the police didn’t do anything about it.
‘They said there was no substantial evidence for them to do a wellness check … I was told, there was no way for them to pinpoint where the screams are coming from.’
It comes after spokesperson for San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Mara Rodriguez told DailyMail.com ‘investigators believe there may be additional victims.’
‘The update was to release [McGuire’s] photo to determine if there are any additional victims that we are not aware of,’ Rodriguez said. ‘I am not aware of any additional victims coming forward as of now.’
McGuire is being held in custody at their West Valley Detention Center and is scheduled to be in court again on July 27, 2022.
Two weeks ago the woman was able to escape the residence in a quiet cul de sac and contact police.
She was found in a nearby park and rushed to hospital where she remains in a stable condition.
The felony complaint filed in Superior Court of California County of San Bernardino Rancho Cucamonga District details the horror the victim endured between January 1, 2022 through June 9, 2022.
McGuire is accused of inflicting ‘great bodily injury’ on the victim ‘with the intent to cause cruel and extreme pain and suffering for the purpose of revenge, extortion, persuasion and for a sadistic purpose.’
The complaint further alleges that McGuire did ‘unlawfully and maliciously deprive [the victim] of a member of the body and did disable, disfigure and render it useless.’
Additionally, the complaint alleges that he ‘did cut and disable the tongue, and put out an eye and slit the nose, ear and lip of [the victim].’

McGuire, who was back in court on Thursday, entered not guilty pleas to all charges, including kidnapping, mayhem and sodomy by use of force.
Five of the counts include special allegations that the crimes involved infliction of great bodily injury and administering a controlled substance during a sex crime, prosecutors said.
The victim told investigators she had been tortured, physically assaulted and raped over the course of several months, sheriff’s officials said.
‘The victim had visible injuries consistent with the allegations made,’ a Sheriff’s Department statement said.
