It’s not often that a 6-foot-11 millionaire celebrates winning a compact sedan on national television, but that was the case on Monday’s episode of The Price Is Right as former New York Knicks forward Jared Jeffries realized one of his lifelong dreams.

Jeffries, 41, was a contestant in the episode that aired Monday, taking part in the ‘One Away’ game in which guests are asked to correct the price of a car by changing one numeral.

‘What a good win!’ Carey said as Jeffries began running around in circles and inspecting his new ride. ‘What a good win to start the show! Way to go!’

‘Yes,’ Jeffries exclaimed as he got an ovation from the audience at Television City in Los Angeles.

Unfortunately, Jeffries fell short in the Showcase Showdown, where contestants spin a wheel to try to get as close to $1 without going over, but he seemed to be happy with his new car.

Jeffries’ former Indiana University teammate Jarrad Odle remarked on the clip on Twitter: ‘Dude still makes me laugh.’

Jeffries responded: ‘Man that was so funny!!!! Life long dream. Miss ya buddy.’

Of course, fans were curious why someone who banked over $40 million over 11 NBA seasons would be so excited to win a moderately priced sedan, that he’d struggle to fit into under the best of circumstances.

‘At 6’4, I cannot comfortably fit inside a Corolla,’ wrote one Twitter user. ‘He’ll find out.’

‘Imagine being this excited about a car you can’t even fit in?’ asked another.

Several fans pointed out that Jeffries had to leave the struggling Knicks to find any success.

‘Another example of a former Knick winning after he leaves,’ wrote one fan.

The 11th pick of the 2002 NBA Draft, Jeffries was a solid defensive forward who had previously helped Indiana reach the 2002 NCAA Title Game, where the Hoosiers fell to Maryland.

He has also launched his own television series: Modern Fishing with Jared Jeffries,’ which debuted on the Outdoor Channel in 2013.
