Insane video shows 100 desperate tenants queueing up down the street for ONE inspection as Australia’s rental crisis worsens

The Australian rental crisis has been summed up in an extraordinary video of hopeful tents lining up down the street desperate to inspect a single property.
The video was filmed in Perth‘s eastern suburb of Bentley where a massive queue of around 100 ponetial renters stretched along Davies Lane waiting to inspect a two bedroom, two bathroom property with a car space up for lease.
Posted to TikTok account Jackajaya, the video sparked a debate among viewers about the national rental crisis.

The video comes after the Real Estate Institute of WA data revealed the Perth rental vacancy rate fell to its lowest level since records began in December, at just 0.6 per cent.
A balanced rental market is considered to have a vacancy rate of around 2.5 per cent, but the Perth market has not been at these levels since 2019.
The video sparked a response from many viewers to weigh into the debate about the the rental crisis.
‘Richest mining state and we can’t provide housing,’ one user wrote.
‘I understanding the line up. I pray everyday for us who are looking, standing in the heat waiting patiently,’ another wrote.
Potential tenants also shared their own horror stories.
‘It’s shocking hey, I’ve been applying for 18 months,’ one wrote.
Some users took aim at governments for not providing enough aid with WA Premier among those in firing line..

‘What the government has done to Australia,’ one viewer wrote.
‘This is sad, all these people looking for a home. C’mon McGowan look after your people,’ another wrote.
The highly demanded property advertises a ‘4light and bright with open plan kitchen, living area, reverse cycle air-conditioning and plenty of storage space’.
The Davies Lane property is currently listed for $400 per week and is no longer taking inspections as they review applications.
The rental market is expected to shrink even more as more international students are required to return to Australian shores to complete face-to-face study’s at Universities.
