Elizabeth Debicki got stuck into character earlier this month as she once again transformed into the late Princess Diana to film scenes for season six of Netflix’s The Crown.

The actress, 32, was the spitting image of the Princess of Wales as she sported a red mini dress, filming at the show’s Mallorcan set in a lavish villa – as they appeared to recreate a 1997 holiday taken by the family, just a month before Diana’s tragic passing.

She was joined by her on-screen sons for the scenes, wrapping an arm around Will Powell, who portrays a young Prince Harry, while standing alongside young Prince William actor Rufus Kampa.

The scenes also showed Mohamed Al-Fayed standing alongside the trio – the businessman being the father of the late Dodi Al-Fayed, who was Diana’s romantic partner and died alongside her.

The Princess and Dodi were in a car crash while driving through the Pont de l’Alma tunnel in Paris, France in August 1997 – dying later from sustained injuries during the accident.

The Crown resumed production on its sixth and final series last month in Barcelona after filming was paused for a single day following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

Diana star Elizabeth was seen filming one of the late royals’ final public appearances, when she visited the Bosnian capital of Sarajevo, just four days after work on the series was paused following the monarch’s passing.

No doubt The Crown is adhering to a strict filming schedule to ensure its sixth and final series is released by Netflix on time, having been pushed back by its day-long pause in the wake of The Queen’s passing.

It was revealed that filming for The Crown been suspended for one day as a ‘mark of respect to the late monarch’, who passed away aged 96 on September 8 at Balmoral Castle.

Netflix had reportedly devised a plan, also named Operation London Bridge like the official funeral plan for the Queen, to outline what the production company for The Crown would do in the event of her passing.

One of the show’s creators Stephen Daldry said when the show first premiered in 2016 the cast would likely stop production, saying: ‘It would be a simple tribute and a mark of respect. She’s a global figure and it’s what we should do.’

Peter Morgan, writer of the drama, was quoted after news of the Queen’s death was confirmed as saying: ‘The Crown is a love letter to her and I’ve nothing to add for now, just silence and respect. I expect we will stop filming out of respect too.’
