Mr Yaquob said: ‘God has gifted me this talent to cut people’s hair, so it’s only right I pay it back into society for people who are in need of it.

‘It makes me feel very happy when I provide people with a free haircut.

‘Homeless people are not different to any of us – they all have their stories, but they have no family or friends who care for them.

‘It must be a very lonely life, so if my haircuts are able to brighten their day and give them a better feeling, then that’s great.

‘Where I grew up in Sudan, we always looked out for one another. This is a part of life – we all have to be kind and if we were, the world would be a much happier place.

‘I work six days a week in my barber shop, and on my day off I go out to various cities and try to find people who need this kindness.

‘Once I had a queue of eight people in the street and I didn’t finish until nine o’clock at night. But I was happy because I have helped people in need of genuine help.’
