Movie buffs and philanthropists jumped at the opportunity to get their hands on original props, costumes and set pieces from the hit film, Everything Everywhere All At Once.

The entertainment company and film distributor A24 spearheaded a weeklong  auction, which ran from February 23 to March 2, with the hopes of being able to donate 100% of the proceeds to charities in need.

After tallying the numbers, the auction ended up raising a whopping $555,725 for three different charities that were chosen by the films duo writers and directors, Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert (known as Daniels).

The organizations that are the recipients of the money generated are the Asian Mental Health Project, the Transgender Law Center and the Laundry Workers Center, according to NPR.

The genre-bending film tells the story of a Chinese-American immigrant family, led by middle-aged matriarch Evelyn (Michelle Yeoh), who simultaneously fights a tax audit of their struggling laundromat and a powerful being intent on destroying the multiverse.

In all, there were 43 items sold during the auction that included an anthropomorphic rock with googly eyes that went for $13,200, and pair of hands with hot-dog shaped fingers that Michelle Yeoh’s character Evelyn Quan Wang endures in the film went for $55,000, as reported by A24 Auctions.

A leather fanny pack worn by Ke Huy Quan’s character Waymond brought in $48,000, while an ‘auditor of the month’ trophy sold for $60,000.

An Alfaverse headset sold for $11,000, Evelyn and Joy pinatas got another $7000 and another fan pai $15,000 for Evelyn’s punk cardigan.

Simple props like Waymond’s chapstick and a Half & Half carton both brought in $5000, while someone else paid $7,050 for Wang family pictures.

A stuffed raccoon, named Raccacoonie (a play on the name of Walt Disney Co.’s Ratatouille), generated the highest bid of $90,000.

The cheapest items sold during the auction was a copy of the fictional ‘Feets’ magazine that went for $2,500 and a donut-patterned umbrella that sold for $2,650.

On the heels of the film’s critical and commercial success, it doesn’t appear to be a stretch that some fans were willing to spend thousands of dollars on memorabilia.

With worldwide box office receipts now at $107.5 million against a budget of $14.3-25 million, Everything Everywhere All At Once is now the highest-grossing movie to date for the New York-based indie studio, A24.

The film made its world premiere at the South By Southwest festival on March 11, 2022, an ultimately had its nationwide release in the U.S. on April 8.

But, in the wake of the Oscar nominations, Everything Everywhere All At Once got re-released on 1,400 screens in U.S. theaters in late January, so those box office receipts could go significantly higher, especially if it wins a bunch of those golden statues.
