A murder investigation has been launched after Emeli Sande’s rapper ex-boyfriend Hypo was stabbed to death during a fight at a party in the early hours of this morning.
The singer, 39, was repeatedly knifed at a venue when a brawl broke out just after midnight in Woodford Green, east London.
Paramedics rushed to the area and found the artist suffering from stab wounds. They tried to save the victim, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
One party goer filmed the moment medical workers attempted to resuscitate the rapper before callously sharing the clip on social media.
No arrests have yet been made and the area around the party is still cordoned off, the Met Police said.
Hypo had reportedly got into a ‘trivial row’ at the party, being held in a large marquee, before he was fatally stabbed, reports the Sun.
The leading figure of the Mashtown rappers collective, based in east London, had been filmed in a car on the way to the venue, smiling and dancing with friends.
Emeli and Hypo dated for around a year before splitting in 2017, but are said to have remained friends.
Hypo, who grew up in Islington, north London, is said to have had a troubled past, but pals said he had ‘mellowed out’ in recent years as he focused on his music career.
