Catherine insisted: ‘I think the best way to look at it, for me, it’s not about weight loss anymore, it’s about getting strong again, being healthy, being on the planet for as long as possible.

‘And weight loss tends to be a by-product of that which is a great bonus.’

When asked directly how she lost her baby weight ‘so quick’ the soap star insisted: ‘I haven’t! Still got a long way to go! But focusing on building my strength back up!.’

Another follower asked for tips about breastfeeding in public, to which Catherine responded: ‘Do you know what? I felt really self conscious this time around because my boobs were like comedy boobs when my milk came in.

Last month, Catherine shared her daughter’s name after giving birth to a baby girl, telling Hello! Magazine that she and husband Tom Pitfield have named their second child Iris Ella.

Catherine explained that she played a character called Iris Moss in the BBC drama Lilies in 2007 and she had ‘loved it ever since”. Their daughter’s middle name Ella is a tribute to Tom’s late grandmother.

Already mother to son Alfie, six, she announced she was expecting her second child in October last year.

Sharing the birth announcement last month, the soap star posted a sweet black and white snap of her newborn’s feet, as she told fans ‘we are overjoyed that our family is complete’.

‘We are so happy to announce that our beautiful daughter has arrived. We are grateful beyond words and feel overjoyed that our family is complete,’ Catherine wrote alongside the image of her daughter.

Two weeks before the birth, Catherine took to Instagram to reveal her pregnancy felt as long as that of an elephant’s, writing: ‘Apparently an African Bush Elephant is pregnant for 22 months!!!! I fear that my body may have me confused with an elephant!’

‘It feels like I’ve been pregnant since 1942… cherishing PJs, a bump and copious amounts of pineapple while I can!’

Speaking last year about her pregnancy, Catherine said that although little Alfie wasn’t too keen on the idea of being a big brother at first, he had come around.

‘We were a bit nervous, because I remember asking him a while back ”would you like a brother or sister?” and his response was ”mummy I’d rather you didn’t”,’ she laughed.

‘We waited until after the 12 week scan to tell him and he took it really well. He was super excited and we were thrilled to bits.’

Catherine and her husband announced that they were expecting their second child in October but admitted during her pregnancy that they hadn’t thought of any names yet.

Speaking to OK! after the announcement, Catherine gushed: ‘We’re absolutely elated. We feel so lucky. When we found out, I just burst into tears’.

The pregnancy came after the star struggled with two years of experiencing phantom pregnancy symptoms, due to a hormonal imbalance.

‘I took so many tests as I was convinced I was actually pregnant, but in fact my body was just mimicking a pregnancy,’ she said. ‘So this time, even when my stomach was a bit swollen, I just thought: Oh hormonal imbalances again!

‘Tom was in bits when we found out we are having a little girl. He has suddenly gone all mushy. I’m sure she will have him wrapped around her little finger.’

Catherine and Tom had a whirlwind romance, and after only four months of dating discovered they were expecting their son Alfie.
