Big Brother host Sonia Kruger reacts to her Gold Logie nomination as she reflects on her 30-year career in showbusiness

TV industry veteran Sonia Kruger has reacted to her Gold Logie nomination.

The 56-year-old, who hosts several popular shows on Channel Seven, including Big Brother, told The West Live on Monday: ‘It feels quite surreal.’

In addition to her Gold Logie nod, Sonia is also nominated for The Bert Newton Award for Most Popular Presenter.

Sonia, who learned of her nominations in May, has been a TV mainstay for 30 years. 

She most recently hosted Big Brother, Holey Moley, Dancing with the Stars: All Stars, The Voice Australia and The Voice Generations for Seven.

When the Logie nominations were announced in May, Sonia said: I’m nominated for a Gold Logie!? Thank you, TV Week and Channel Seven, for the honour.’ 

‘Congratulations to all nominated. Bring on TV’s night of nights,’ she added. 

Sonia isn’t just known for her TV presenting skills.

She has also made headlines in her recent for her youthful glow, with fans saying she looks two decades younger than her actual age.

The glamazon recently shared some of her health and fitness secrets with the Healthy-ish podcast – and dancing is at the top of her list.

‘You’re working out but you don’t realise how much you’re working out because you’re genuinely having a good time,’ she explained.

‘It’s just the kind of activity that makes everybody feel happy.’

Sonia, who is a former dancer herself, praised dancing for its fitness benefits, which include cardio, strength, and resistance.

‘Even your own body weight is a form of strength training and resistance training,’ she said.
