In the original film, the late actor, Chadwick Boseman, who passed away in 2020, starred as Black Panther’s title character, amid a cast that also included Michael B. Jordan and Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o.

Numerous cast members from the first movie expressed interest in returning for a follow-up, although plans were complicated when Boseman tragically died of colon cancer.

It was later confirmed that plans for a sequel would be moving forward and that the late actor’s role would not be recast.

Filming on the project began in June of last year and continued until its crew wrapped this past March.
