Shiels, 31, who played with the Hawthorn Football Club in three premierships between 2013-2015, now plays for North Melbourne.

He shares a son, Tommy, who is ten-months old, with his wife Claire.

According to the Herald Sun’s report, the couple bought the house originally for its excellent location.

Describing the cottage as ‘so close to everything,’ Shiels continued: ‘There are three train stations within walking distance.

‘[There are] lots of cafes, an off-leash dog park about 100m away where we walk our golden retriever and it’s pretty handy to get to the MCG.’
