‘Russian bombs’ kill two in POLAND: Border town hit by explosions sparking emergency meetings in Nato state
- BREAKING: More to follow
Two people have been killed in Poland after explosions hit a farm near the border with Ukraine in what is suspected to be a Russian missile attack.
A pair of blasts are reported to have rang out in Przewodów, a rural village located less than ten miles from the Ukrainian border in south western Poland, according to senior U.S. intelligence officials.
It has not yet been determined whether the explosions were in fact caused by Russian missiles, but Polish Radio ZET claimed two stray missiles hit Polish soil, without providing more details.
The blasts came as Moscow launched fresh missile attacks across Ukraine today in attacks that Kyiv said were the heaviest wave of missile strikes in nearly nine months of war.
Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has called an urgent meeting of a government committee for national security and defence affairs amid the news, a government spokesman said.
‘Firefighters are on the spot, it’s not clear what has happened,’ Lukasz Kucy, officer on duty at a nearby firefighters’ post, told Reuters.
