An Australian brewery has shared the hilarious note they received from a remorseful visitor who ‘souvenired’ one of their branded pint glasses.

The team at Robe Town Brewery in South Australia shared the letter they got from an ‘honest customer’ who pocketed one of the venue’s custom-made glasses on a night out. 

‘I loved your brewery so much I ‘souvenired’ a glass and have been feeling guilty about it ever since,’ the anonymous confession read alongside a $10 note.  

‘Hope this covers it. Sorry,’ he concluded, next to a small sad face drawing. 

On Facebook, Robe Town Brewery said they have forgiven the thief and reminded customers the branded glasses are available for purchase as a keepsake.   

‘This week’s ‘most honest customer’ award goes to the sender of this anonymous letter we received in the mail. We appreciate the guilty reimbursement! You are forgiven,’ the post read. 

‘We do sell our RTB glasses at the brewery and we think they are pretty cool as well.’

The post blew up online has drew in thousands of ‘likes’ and comments with many business owners sharing similar stories. 

‘Surely the ‘most honest customer’ didn’t steal a glass in the first place,’ laughed one man.

‘I had a young boy return to the coffee van stating that he forgot to pay. I didn’t even remember but he was adamant and gave me his money. Honesty lives on,’ coffee shop owner recalled. 

‘I’ve received a teaspoon, a single mattress protector, and a Pyrex glass container in the mail from customers who felt guilty for accidentally taking them. All accompanied by a totally adorable note,’ another wrote. 

It also prompted many to confess their own petty crimes with one admitting to stealing dozens of glasses from pubs and bars over their drinking years. 

‘Wow l wouldn’t know where to start with all the glasses especially the beer steins from Munich and bits and pieces from my younger days,’ one person replied.

‘I’d be in a huge debt with the amount of glasses I had obtained over the years,’ a second confessed. 

‘When I pay $600 per night in a hotel I don’t feel too bad taking half a roll of toilet paper, a couple coffee sachets and a tiny bar of soap,’ another admitted.
