It comes after The Real Love Boat premiered to just 215,000 metro viewers on Wednesday.

The ratings were even worse the following night, plunging to just 174,000 viewers.

It’s also been savaged by viewers so far, with many taking to social media to criticise the format and the participants.

‘Ten minutes in and I’m seeing an iceberg. Terrible,’ one tweeted.

‘Love Boat? More like the Bogan Titanic,’ added another.

The ire continued with some Twitter users going after host Darren McMullen with cutthroat comments.

‘Please tell me Darren McMullen isn’t going to speak in that over the top voice the entire show,’ someone wrote.

‘Darren McMullen is what you get when you order Osher from Wish,’ snapped one more.

The Real Love Boat is based on the classic ’70s dramedy, The Love Boat.

It marks Below Deck Mediterranean star Hannah Ferrier’s return to reality television as the show’s cruise director, while former Studio 10 reporter Daniel ‘Doods’ Doody is head of entertainment.

TV host and actor Darren rounds out the cast as the show’s host after his stint on three seasons of The Voice Australia.
