Jordan Banjo has revealed that he has undergone a vasectomy by posting a light-hearted video of himself hobbling back to his car after the procedure.

The Diversity dancer, 30, took to Instagram on Tuesday to share that he had undergone a vasectomy – a reversible procedure to cut the tubes that carry a man’s sperm to prevent pregnancy.

He posted a video of himself walking tenderly back to his car after the procedure as his wife Naomi Courts, who is currently pregnant with their third child, filmed him.

Naomi was heard laughing as Jordan flashed what seemed to be a slightly forced smile before she asked him if he was OK, to which he nervously replied ‘yep’.

When Naomi then asked him if he was sure everything was OK, he said ‘yes, positive’ before insisting that the procedure wasn’t ‘bad’.

Laughing, he explained: ‘The pain’s not the problem. The problem is when you’re so scared you have a nipple instead of a penis between your legs and then the nurse tries to tape it to your stomach, but there’s not much to tape so she basically places a piece of tape over it.’

Looking slightly pained, Naomi then said: ‘In you get hun,’ as Jordan very carefully lowered himself into the car.

Jordan also shared a black-and-white selfie of himself to his Stories with his hoodie pulled up around his face as he wrote: ‘It’s a tender morning.’

Taking to the comments section, fans admitted they found the video hilarious but also showed their support for Jordan, who is the younger brother of Ashley Banjo.

Jordan is not the only star who has openly discussed having vasectomy as Myleene Klass recently revealed her fiancé Simon Motson had the procedure.

In November, she praised her partner for undergoing a vasectomy in order to ‘give her a body a break’ after four heartbreaking miscarriages.

The couple tragically lost four children before welcoming rainbow baby Apollo in 2019, with Myleene detailing the toll it took on her physically as well as mentally.

In order to prevent any further pregnancies without Myleene having to take birth control, Simon underwent the reversible surgical procedure.

What is a vasectomy and what are the risks?

A vasectomy, or male sterilisation, is a procedure to cut the tubes that carry a man’s sperm to permanently prevent pregnancy without further contraception.

It can usually be done under local anaesthetic and takes about 15 minutes, according to the NHS.

The procedure is only usually carried out on older men, and surgeons are often reluctant to carry it out on people under 30 in case they regret it later.

The NHS lists possible complications as being a collection of blood inside the scrotum (haematoma), hard lumps called sperm granulomas (caused by sperm leaking from the tubes) or an infection.

Long-term testicle pain is another possible complication, which may need further surgery to deal with.

The percentage of men who experience this pain is debated, with different figures cited by various sources.

Meanwhile, Catherine Tyldesley took to her Instagram Stories last week to praise her ‘hero’ husband Tom Pitfield for getting a vasectomy.

The former Coronation Street star, 39, shared a hilarious mirror selfie taken by the photographer, 35, where he pulled a worried expression before the surgery.

He had written in his original post, ‘I hope they’ve turned the heating up [scissors and aubergine emojis],’ while she added, ‘My hero! Taking one for the team today! [laughing and scissors emojis].’

Catherine shares daughter Iris, 10 months, with the co-founder of Brood magazine as well as their son Alfie, seven.

Britain’s Got Talent star Jordan’s wife Naomi is currently pregnant with their third child and they revealed their happy news in October.

At the time, he shared an adorable shot with Naomi outside their home as their children Cassius, four, and Mimi, three, cradled her baby bump.

He captioned the shot: ‘TRICK OR TREAT! We’re expecting 2 (more) tiny little feet! baby number 3 due April 2023.’

The dancer also shared a sweet selfie of the pair holding their sonogram picture as he penned: ‘The Banjo Family is growing even more❤️ Baby number 3 on the way.’

The couple, who tied the knot in August 2022, are also parents to son Cassius Ashley and daughter Mayowa ‘Mimi’ Angel.

Jordan announced his engagement to Naomi in January 2020 when he proposed during a trip to the Maldives after almost five years together.

Speaking to The Sun he said: ‘Nay loves the idea of Mimi being a little flower girl and Cas being a page boy.

‘It will be really nice to have them at the wedding because not everyone has children at the wedding, they normally come after. I’m super excited.

‘Everyone in Diversity had kids after they got married, we did that the other way round.’

Jordan and Naomi met at famous Essex nightclub Sugar Hut in 2013, but embarked on a relationship two years later.

In January 2018, the couple revealed they were expecting their first child together, with the Essex-based beauty admitting she took ‘nine pregnancy tests’ out of shock.

She told OK! at the time: ‘I wanted to be sure so I went out and bought eight more tests. I sat with them laid out in front of me on the bathroom floor, staring at them in disbelief.

‘We always said we wanted kids together, we just didn’t think it would happen this soon. We’re over the moon, though!’

Jordan rose to fame in 2009 when he won Britain’s Got Talent with older brother Ashley as part of their dance troupe Diversity.
