Married At First Sight’s Olivia Frazer reveals how much she was REALLY paid to be the show’s villain

Married At First Sight star Olivia Frazer has revealed how much she was paid to appear on the controversial dating show.

The 28-year-old, who was the main villain on this year’s season, was asked about pay during an Instagram livestream on Wednesday.

She confirmed the participants were each paid ‘about $1,100 per week’.

This covered basic living expenses, including food, while the participants were filming the show in Sydney.

In March, Olivia’s co-star Domenica Calarco discussed how much the contestants were paid.

She said on The Kyle and Jackie O Show their pay was ‘pretty much minimum wage’.

The makeup artist was praising the psychological support offered to participants when she mentioned the money wasn’t great.

‘I feel like the show does get a bad rap, and I’m not getting paid to say that. Because I didn’t get paid enough, to be honest, with what I went through…’ she said.

Radio host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson then asked Domenica how much the brides and grooms were paid to appear on the show.

‘I think it’s pretty much minimum wage. Look, even [co-star] Dion [Giannarelli] said there wasn’t enough to cover his rent,’ replied Domenica.

‘It’s enough to just cover your rent, your living expenses, kind of thing. Because when you’re living [in the MAFS apartment complex], all of that is taken care of.

‘You don’t have to pay for anything. It’s pretty much maybe like an average wage, I would say.’

MAFS alum Nasser Sultan previously complained about the low pay.

‘You get $150 for the day, that’s it. But on top of that, you have to pay expenses – your living expenses with the woman that you marry,’ he told Now to Love.

‘It’s not $150 clear. You still have to pay rent if you’re renting. You’ve got to pay your rego [car registration] and it’s 12-hour filming days.’

Explaining it’s a daily allowance, not a paycheck, Nasser added of the money given to the show’s participants: ‘That’s what you live on.’

Rent: 'It's enough to cover your rent, your living expenses, kind of thing. Because when you're living [on the show], all of that is taken care of,' said Domenica (pictured with Jack Millar)
