Lulu sparked some confusion among viewers of the Platinum Jubilee Pageant coverage on Sunday.

The Scottish singer, 73, joined broadcasterĀ Gyles Brandreth during the commentary of the parade where she appeared to speak with a slightly different accent.Ā 

Lulu spoke during the procession of the ‘decades buses’, which saw a bus representing each decade since the 1950s to the 2010s down the mall.

The 1950s bus featured the likes of Bonnie Langford, Chris Eubank, Katherine Jenkins and Cliff Richard.

Speaking of the impact the Jubilee has had on the nation, Lulu said: ‘This feeling, the upliftment we have felt, the joy, the love.Ā 

‘We are all united because of our beautiful queen, our hardworking queen. Thatā€™s what everyone is feeling, you can feel it through the screen.’

Viewers quickly took to social media to react to Lulu’s accent, with one writing: ‘Lulu and her transatlantic accent’.

It comes after Lulu recently shared a new TikTok video where she became emotional when reminiscing over attending the Queen’s coronation at just four years old.

The singer went misty-eyed as she recalled being asked to sing a song by her late father and becoming ‘a star for the day’.

Addressing her 5,600 followers she said: ‘I remember the Queens Coronation. I was four years old and there was a street party in my home Glasgow where I come from.

‘And I remember being on my dads shoulders and singing a song for the Queens Coronation. It went down really well, went down a storm and I was a star for the day on the street.’Ā

Lulu then sang the song In A Golden Coach by Dickie Valentine but as she sang the two verses she became emotional and dewy eyed.

She let out a sigh on the verge of tears and said: ‘Happy Platinum Jubilee everybody.’
