‘I’ve got The Fear so badly today I feel sick! Please help a girl out by sharing some equally embarrassing drunk stories,’ she said.

Responses cascaded in with many people assuring her that it could have been worse and that it happens to everyone.

The woman posted: ‘I am dying of shame. Massively overshared, talked s**** and behaved like a total t** at a party yesterday.’

People were quick to share their own embarrassing tales including buying a van on eBay and getting undressed for bed mid party at a friend's house

People were quick to share their own embarrassing tales including buying a van on eBay and getting undressed for bed mid party at a friend’s house

She explained: ‘I’ve got The Fear so badly today I feel sick!’

Finally she asked users to help her heal adding: ‘Please help a girl out by sharing some equally embarrassing drunk stories to lessen my pain! Thank you in advance!’

Users were quick to help her out and off load their own drunken stories.

One person admitted: ‘I’ve thrown up in front of people, urinated in front of people, flashed etc. Yeah I’ve done some incredibly mortifying things.’

Someone else said: ‘Most of us have done stupid things when drunk. At least you didn’t buy a van off eBay. Or vomit on a neighbour’s car. Drinkers remorse is horrible.’

A third person revealed: ‘I once spent a ridiculous amount of time explaining that ‘The Archers’ was a radio drama – to English people I met on a holiday in Greece.’

And a fourth shared: I recently took my trousers off in my friends living room mid party as I’d decided to go bed right there and then. Fortunately my mates all thought it was funny and I won’t be living it down any time soon…’

Others admitted: ‘Ah we’ve all been there dancing like I’m in a girl band thinking I can sing. A few weeks ago I mentioned something that’s a well known family ‘secret’ and he didn’t know… it doesn’t impact him directly and the people it does impact know, but I felt awful he didn’t know and I told and it’s brand new information to him cringed for days.’

Someone else added: ‘Oooo I’ve got one! I once got kicked out of a restaurant for being too drunk! They wouldn’t let me leave via the entrance and chucked me in a food delivery lift and out the back kitchen door. I wasn’t lairy drunk, but quiet absolutely black out asleep drunk! Not good.’

Others told of embarrassing tales including dancing uncomfortably close with their father-in-law and high-jacking a wedding band’s drum set

A third person revealed: ‘I got very drunk at a family do years ago and started dancing with my father in law. I sort of forgot who I was dancing with half way through and threw in some highly inappropriate moves. He left me to it on the dance floor and sat back down.’

And a fourth said: ‘Whatever you did can’t have been as bad as the young woman who got on stage with the wedding band and took over as the drummer. There was no removing her. She could not play drums. Never touched a touched drum set in her life (as she later admitted). It was like the worst imaginable scene out of drunk Bridget jones.

‘She did not come out of her room for two days. Stayed an extra night at the hotel she wouldn’t have to face any of the departing guests the following morning-after-the-drumming-crime. She was a REALLY nice gal.’
